Brittany Cowan

Brittany is a creative, enthusiastic professional who is skilled in digital media marketing, marketing collateral development and design, public relations and strategic communication planning, international communication strategy, fundraising, grant writing, and event planning. She is passionate about empowerment programs for underprivileged populations and community education. She is Alaska-grown and loves international travel and volunteering abroad. She is a big believer that each individual can make a positive impact on the world. 


Brittany earned her M.A. in International and Intercultural Communications from the University of Denver in June 2014. He course work concentrated in international communication, non profit management, and Latin American studies. She also holds her B.A. in Public Relations from the University of Southern California.

EXPERIENCE:
Marketing Manager at Denver Public Schools, November 2016 - Present
-Develop and implement comprehensive strategic marketing communications plans for designated high-priority schools, DPS departments and programs and districtwide initiatives. Oversee implementation of those plans.
- Provide comprehensive, strategic marketing communications support to high-priority schools and departments, including professional consultation related to branding, marketing collateral, student recruitment and retention strategies, digital communications, media relations, event-based marketing, direct mail, internal communications and stakeholder engagement.      
- Directly supervise Marketing Specialist; determine school marketing priorities, oversee project development and provide guidance on visual aesthetics, messaging, content and deliverables.
